These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Segmova Studio ("Segmova," "the Service"), an AI-assisted computer-assisted translation (CAT) platform for professional translators and localization teams. Segmova Studio is currently in private beta. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The Service is intended for professional and business use. You register with an email address and password and must confirm your email before your account is fully active. Access during the private beta is limited to invited users. You're responsible for keeping your account information accurate, your credentials confidential, and for all activity under your account.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to use the Service for your own professional translation and localization work. You agree not to use the Service unlawfully, upload content you don't have the right to process, attempt to access another user's account or data, disrupt the Service, or attempt to extract our underlying technology.
You retain all rights, title, and interest in your source documents, translations, Translation Memories, Glossaries, and any other content you upload or create using the Service. Uploading a document to Segmova does not transfer ownership of that document, or of any resulting translation, to us. You grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely as necessary to provide the Service — for example, to run document import, segmentation, and the translation editor. This license ends when the corresponding content is deleted.
Machine translation and AI-assisted segmentation are optional features, off by default. AI-assisted segmentation is currently available only for HTML/HTM imports; PDF and DOCX files are always segmented using Segmova's own built-in segmentation. To use an AI-assisted feature, you provide your own API key for the provider you choose (currently Anthropic or OpenAI). Requests are sent directly from your browser to that provider using your key, not through Segmova's own servers, and your use of that provider is subject to its own terms and policies.
The Service also relies on Supabase (authentication, database, and storage) and Vercel (hosting) to operate.
We know professional translators often work under client confidentiality obligations. Document parsing and segmentation run on our own servers unless and until you choose to enable an optional AI feature. You're responsible for deciding whether a given document is appropriate to process through the Service, including through any AI feature, in light of your own confidentiality obligations. AI-generated and machine-translated output may contain errors and should be reviewed by a qualified translator before professional use.
Aside from your own content, the Service — including its software, document-processing technology, and design — belongs to Segmova. These Terms don't grant you any rights to that technology beyond your limited right to use the Service. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
Segmova Studio is offered as a private beta. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, features and availability may change, and beta access doesn't guarantee continued access on the same terms, or at all. We recommend keeping your own copies of critical source documents.
The Service is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans, we'll update these Terms and give notice before any charge applies to your account.
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Segmova is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Self-service account deletion isn't currently available within the product — to request deletion of your account, contact support@segmova.com.
We may update these Terms from time to time. A material update carries a new version number, and you'll be asked to accept it before continuing to use the Service.
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@segmova.com.
